The Butterfly - Arun Kolatkar

There is no story behind it
It is split like a second.
It hinges around itself.

It has no future.
It is pinned down to no past.
It's a pun on the present.

It's a little yellow butterfly.
It has taken these wretched hills
under its wings.

Just a pinch of yellow,
it opens before it closes
and closes before it o

where is it

I am glad you enjoyed it, I liked its simplicity as well. These are all widely available, published poems - none of them mine. I am re-posting them myself from various places. I don't imagine many people are reading these but those who are, I just hope that they can get a feel for these great poets and get reading them - and more poetry in general. It would be silly of me to mind, and no, I don't, heh.
